Portrait of Eli Lebovits, director of Green & Sternfeld

For families with complex — and often international — affairs, Eli is the adviser they come to rely on. Measured and resourceful, he has a particular ability to find a way through problems others consider intractable, looking beyond the obvious and acting calmly and strategically when it matters most.

Eli advises prominent families and privately owned businesses across taxation, business advisory, family office, international tax and corporate matters. His counsel combines technical depth with commercial perspective and is delivered with clarity, discretion and sound judgement. Above all, it is his integrity and commitment to those he advises that have earned the confidence of clients over many years and underpinned enduring professional relationships.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Accounting from Monash University, where he studied on scholarship, Eli began his career with global packaging group Amcor before moving into professional practice with PricewaterhouseCoopers and later Ernst & Young. The combination of commercial and professional experience shaped the pragmatic, commercially focused approach he brings to his work today. During six years with those firms, Eli progressed rapidly to management, advising high-net-worth individuals and substantial privately owned businesses across a diverse range of industries.

Eli joined Green & Sternfeld in 2006 and became a director in 2010. Over the years, he has developed enduring relationships with many of Australia’s prominent families, advising across complex business, family and succession matters and often through periods of significant transition. His role extends well beyond taxation: he brings a broad, strategic perspective to the issues families face, working closely with business owners, family members and their wider circle of professional advisers to bring clarity to complexity and perspective to important decisions. He also contributes to a number of client advisory boards, reflecting the depth of his involvement in their broader business and family affairs.

Away from the firm, Eli enjoys music and tennis, deepening his understanding of his heritage, and spending time with family and friends.
